正面描述 Central field bears the denomination legend in Arabic naskh script, with the value 'One Pound' prominently displayed and flanked by the dual dates 1402 (AH) to the right and 1981 (AD) to the left. The country name 'Arab Republic of Egypt' is inscribed in a circular legend along the upper periphery. An ornate arabesque floral motif decorates the lower field beneath the denomination. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border and a segmented outer border characteristic of Egyptian commemorative coinage of this period.

背面描述 Central high-relief composition depicts Ahmad Orabi mounted on horseback, his right hand raised with index finger pointing upward in a commanding gesture, set against a frieze of his assembled followers rendered in lower relief. To the left, a group of mounted cavalry officers is shown in profile, while to the right stands a rank of infantry soldiers. The dual commemorative dates 1881 and 1981 appear in the upper field flanking the central figure. A curved Arabic inscription in naskh script occupies the lower portion of the field, recording the centennial of the Orabi Revolution, all within a beaded inner border and segmented outer rim.

附加信息

The Orabi Revolution of 1879–1882 was Egypt's first significant nationalist uprising against both Khedival autocracy and creeping European financial control — Ahmad Orabi led army officers and civilian allies in demanding constitutional government before British forces crushed the movement at the Battle of Tel el-Kebir in September 1882. Egypt's subsequent occupation by Britain lasted until 1954. This coin was issued exactly one century after that defeat, under Sadat, during a period of deliberate historical rehabilitation of Orabi as a proto-nationalist hero.
