Issued to mark the fiftieth anniversary of Misr Insurance Company, one of Egypt's oldest and largest state-owned insurers, founded in 1934 as part of the broader Misr Group — the industrial and financial conglomerate established by Talaat Harb to build Egyptian economic independence from foreign capital.
