Beschrijving keerzijde Central device depicts a stylized oval cartouche enclosing a view of a mosque with a prominent minaret, symbolic of Egyptian Islamic architectural heritage, commemorating the golden jubilee of Misr Insurance Company. Flanking the cartouche are the dual dates 1934 and 1984 in both Arabic-Indic and Western numerals, marking the company's founding and fiftieth anniversary. The legend 'MISR INSURANCE COMPANY' arcs along the lower periphery in Latin script, while the Arabic legend 'شركة مصر للتأمين' appears in the inner circle below the central cartouche. The upper arc carries the Arabic jubilee inscription 'اليوبيل الذهبي' (The Golden Jubilee) in prominent relief.

Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the fiftieth anniversary of Misr Insurance Company, one of Egypt's oldest and largest state-owned insurers, founded in 1934 as part of the broader Misr Group — the industrial and financial conglomerate established by Talaat Harb to build Egyptian economic independence from foreign capital. The commemorative program of the early 1980s saw the Central Bank of Egypt produce a run of .720 silver pound issues tied to institutional anniversaries, most with modest mintages aimed at collectors rather than circulation.
