| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black on a green-tinted guilloche underprint, with the bank title LLOYDS BANK LIMITED arched in bold letterpress at the top, beneath which a small vignette of a horse and rider appears within an ornamental frame flanked by the legend INCORPORATED IN ENGLAND. A sailing ship vignette is positioned at lower centre, with the promise-to-pay text rendered in script, the value ONE POUND set in a decorative panel at centre, and the issuing place DOUGLAS, ISLE OF MAN at lower left alongside the handwritten date and two manuscript signatures for Accountant and Manager. Denomination numerals ONE appear in elaborate guilloche cartouches at each corner, and the printer's imprint W.W. SPRAGUE & CO LTD BANK NOTE ENGRAVERS LONDON E.C. is noted at the foot. |
