| 背面描述 | The reverse displays the heraldic shield of the Parish of St. John, bearing a Maltese cross on a plain field, centrally positioned within the coin's design. The shield is inscribed above with PARISH OF and below with ST. JOHN. Surrounding the shield, the circular legend reads BAILIWICK OF JERSEY to the upper arc and ONE POUND to the lower arc, separated by raised dots. The entire design is bordered by a beaded inner circle set against a highly polished proof field. |

Jersey's 1988 pound series commemorated the island's parish system, with each denomination pairing a parish church against the relevant heraldic arms. St. John is the smallest parish by population — historically a farming community in the island's north, largely untouched by the commercial development that reshaped St. Helier and St. Clement. The silver proof versions of this series were struck at the Royal Mint specifically for collector sets, with business strike equivalents circulating in cupro-nickel.
