| Additional information |
St. Brelade is one of Jersey's twelve parishes, each of which received its own reverse design in this 1984 gold proof parish series — a deliberate effort by the States of Jersey to produce a collectible set rather than circulation coinage. The series was issued through the Jersey mint office specifically for the collector market, with gold strikes produced in very limited numbers alongside silver and cupro-nickel counterparts.
The .917 fineness conforms to traditional crown gold standard, the same alloy used in British sovereigns for centuries.
