| Additional information |
The Egyptian Products Company (Sharika al-Muntajat al-Misriyya) was a state-owned industrial conglomerate established as part of Nasser's nationalisation program in the early 1960s. This 1982 commemorative falls within Mubarak's first year in office following Sadat's assassination, a period when the Egyptian mint issued a notable volume of silver commemoratives — partly as a foreign-currency earning mechanism during a period of acute balance-of-payments pressure.
