Issued to commemorate Egypt Air's fiftieth anniversary, this coin marks the founding of Misr Airwork in 1932 — a joint venture between the Egyptian government and Britain's Airwork Limited that became one of Africa's earliest national carriers. The airline was fully nationalized and renamed Egypt Air in 1971, a decade after Nasser's broader nationalization campaigns reshaped state ownership across Egyptian industry.
