| Obverse description | The central vignette carries the circular arms of the Bailiwick of Guernsey — three golden lions passant guardant on a red field — enclosed within a beaded ring bearing the Latin legend S'BALLIVIE INSVLE DE GERNEREVE, the whole framed by an intaglio-engraved wreath of foliage and florals. Denomination counters displaying the £1 cypher appear at left and right within guilloche rosettes, flanked by ornamental floral sprays. The issuing authority inscription runs along the lower margin, with the Treasurer's signature at lower right. |
