Obverse description Facing crowned bust of Bishop Johannes IV Duesborg rendered in a crude, stylized manner characteristic of early 16th-century Livonian ecclesiastical coinage. The bishop's mitre is prominently depicted above the face, with drapery visible at the shoulders. A partial circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the effigy within the coin's irregular field. The design is struck on a small, thin flan with typical hammered irregularity.
Obverse script Latin (uncial)
Obverse lettering IOHANES · EPS
(Translation: Johannes Episcopus Johannes, Bishop)
