Obverse description A plain cross centered within a semicircular arch, flanked on either side by an Austrian Bindenschild (fess shield), with pellets distributed in the upper field. The design is executed in high relief typical of medieval Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage, with bold, somewhat schematic rendering of the heraldic elements. The cross divides the lower portion of the field into quadrants, and the overall composition is contained within an irregular flan characteristic of hammered coinage of the period.

Reverse description Uniface strike; the reverse is smooth and unworked, as this coin was struck on one side only, consistent with the bracteate and half-bracteate tradition prevalent in the Austrian and Styrian pfennig coinage of the early fourteenth century. The surface retains the incuse impressions of the obverse design transferred during striking.
