Obverse description Central cross formed by four heart-shaped leaves arranged symmetrically, their pointed lobes meeting at the center of the field. Small ringlets or pellets occupy each of the four corners between the arms of the cross, providing decorative fill to the remaining field. The design is executed in low relief typical of Austrian hammered bracteate-style pfennigs of the mid-14th century, with an irregular flan edge characteristic of the period.
