| Beschrijving voorzijde | In the center of the field, a half eagle displayed with spread wings occupies the upper portion of the design, its body rendered in a stylized, archaic manner characteristic of medieval Austrian bracteate-style pfennigs. Beneath the eagle, a tower or turret is depicted in low relief, serving as the primary heraldic device of the Duchy of Austria under Duke Albrecht II. The overall composition is unlettered, with no surrounding legend, conforming to the anonymous bracteate tradition of the period. The flan is irregular and slightly cracked at the edges, typical of hammered silver coinage of the mid-14th century. |
