| Reverse description | The reverse likewise combines two layers of design. The counterstamp applied to this face reproduces the reverse of the 1894 Guatemalan 1/2 Real, depicting the allegorical figure of Justice. The host coin's original reverse presents a draped liberty bust facing left, with the legend LIBERTAD and REPUBLICA DE GUATEMALA arching around the periphery, and inscriptions in the field and exergue indicating the denomination UN PESO, fineness 0.900, assayer initials A.E., and the date 30 DE JUNIO DE 1871. |
