| Obverse description | Plain cardboard disc with a double-line circular border enclosing the central field. The denomination is displayed prominently in two lines at centre: the large numeral '1' above the abbreviation 'PTA.' The curved legend 'CONSEJO MUNICIPAL' arcs along the upper periphery, while 'ESTIVELLA' arcs along the lower periphery. Two five-pointed stars flank the lower legend at the left and right, serving as decorative stops. The overall design is typeset and printed in dark ink, consistent with wartime emergency issue practice. |

| Reverse description | Plain cardboard reverse bearing printed and handwritten authorization elements typical of Spanish Civil War emergency cardboard currency. At the top, a handwritten serial number (689) is stamped or inscribed. Below, the printed word 'Presidente,' appears, followed by the manuscript signature of the Municipal President. In the lower half, the printed word 'Cajero,' (Cashier) is followed by the manuscript signature of the municipal cashier, reading 'M. Caldeniz' or similar. The signatures validate the note as an individually authorized emergency fiduciary instrument. |

| Additional information |
Estivella is a small municipality in the Valencian hinterland that, like hundreds of Spanish towns, issued its own emergency paper currency during the Civil War after the Republic's coinage collapsed in circulation. The Consejo Municipal authorised these cardboard tokens in 1937 when hoarding had stripped metal coins from everyday trade entirely. At 40 mm, this piece is unusually large for a one-peseta local issue — most comparable municipal emissions ran closer to 30 mm.
