| Obverse description | Facing crowned royal bust of King Henry III rendered in the stylised Romanesque manner characteristic of Short Cross coinage. The king is depicted with a bearded face, large almond-shaped eyes, and a crown surmounted by three fleurs-de-lis or pellets. The bust is flanked by two sceptres or the suggestion of robes, and is surrounded by a beaded inner circle. The circumferential legend in uncial letters reads HENRICVS REX, identifying the monarch. |

| Reverse description | A short voided cross pattée extends to the inner beaded circle, dividing the reverse into four quadrants each containing three pellets arranged in a triangular formation, a hallmark of the Short Cross type coinage. A second beaded circle surrounds the central cross design. The outer legend in uncial script names the moneyer and mint, reading RAVF ON LVNDE, identifying the moneyer Rauf operating at the London mint. |
