| Obverse description | Central field bearing bold Arabic script in the Nastaliq calligraphic style, arranged within a roughly square inner frame typical of Mughal copper coinage. The legend reads 'Alamgir Badshah' (Emperor Alamgir), the regnal title of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, struck in high relief against the flat field. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, characteristic of hand-hammered Mughal copper issues. Patina is a deep reddish-brown with areas of green cuprite corrosion across the surface. |
