| Reverse description | Central device comprising a crowned pointed shield bearing the three crowns of Sweden in pale, rendered in low relief within a beaded inner circle. A plain cross divides the shield into quarters. The circumscription, arranged in four horizontal lines reading outward from the centre, gives the mint name in abbreviated Latin: MONE / STOK / hOLM / (date), identifying this as a coin struck at Stockholm. The date 1532 is visible in the legend on the example illustrated. The overall execution is consistent with the rough, hand-struck quality typical of Swedish billon öre coinage of the Gustav Vasa period. |
