| Popis rubu | The central field bears the denomination and issuing authority inscribed in three lines of bold serif lettering: ONE / MOHUR / INDIA, separated by a horizontal rule between MOHUR and INDIA, with the date 1870 below. The central inscription is framed by an ornate continuous border of interlaced geometric and foliate designs composed of triangular knotwork and acanthus scrollwork, evoking Indo-Saracenic decorative motifs. An inner beaded border separates this decorative frame from the raised outer rim, which is likewise beaded. The overall reverse design is exceptionally crisp and deeply struck, consistent with proof quality. |
