| Reverse description | A prowling lion passant to the left occupies the central field, rendered in fine sculptural detail with a prominent mane, its body low and muscular in a stalking posture. Behind the lion rises a palm tree bearing fruit, its fronds spreading across the upper field, symbolising the tropical territories of the Company. The arc legend EAST INDIA COMPANY curves along the upper periphery in bold raised letters, while the denomination ONE MOHUR is inscribed in two lines across the lower field, followed below by the Persian legend یک اشرفی (Yak Ashrafi, meaning One Ashrafi). The entire design is enclosed within a finely executed beaded border. |
