| Obverse description | Hammered gold flan bearing a multi-line Persian legend in bold Nasta'liq script arranged across the central field, divided by a horizontal rule into upper and lower registers. The legend reads that Jahangir Shah Akbar had this coin struck at Burhanpur. The field is framed by a plain inner border and an outer dotted circular border. Floral scrollwork ornaments fill the periphery between the two borders, lending an elegant decorative quality characteristic of Mughal hammered gold coinage. |
