| Obverse description | Printed entirely in green on a lightly textured paper ground, the note is arranged symmetrically around a central oval cartouche bearing the denomination "Eine Mark" in bold serif lettering, flanked left and right by circular guilloche medallions each enclosing the numeral "1". A curved banner at the top carries the camp designation "GEFANGENENLAGER", while a corresponding lower banner reads "HAMMERSTEIN", with the restrictive legend "NUR GEFANGENENGELD" running along the bottom margin. The overall layout employs repetitive lathe-work guilloche borders and rosette ornaments, consistent with typeset letterpress production of the World War I period. |
