备注

Eglosheim, a small town near Ludwigsburg in Württemberg, hosted a prisoner-of-war camp during the First World War, and like dozens of similar German facilities, it issued its own internal currency to manage the economic life of the camp — preventing prisoners from accumulating Reichsmarks that could fund escape attempts or black-market dealings with guards. These camp notes had no value beyond the wire.

The yellow paper stock used for this denomination was a deliberate denomination marker, not an aesthetic choice — color-coding reduced the risk of forgery and simplified transactions between prisoners and canteen staff who may have shared no common language.
