| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Carl XI of Sweden facing left, surrounded by a circular Latin legend. A rectangular or oval countermark bearing the crowned monogram 'C XII' (for Carl XII) has been applied to the left field of the host coin, validating it for circulation as an emergency issue in Riga in 1705.
