Obverse description Armored bust of Frederik III facing right, wearing a closed royal crown with elaborate arched detailing, long flowing hair falling to the shoulders, and ornate plate armor with decorative lace cravat at the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style characteristic of mid-seventeenth-century Danish coinage. The bust occupies the central field, surrounded by a beaded inner border. The circumferential Latin legend is divided by the date, reading clockwise around the periphery.
