| Obverse description | Bare-headed, bearded effigy of Oscar II facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and full beard characteristic of the king's mature portrait. The truncation of the bust is cut cleanly at the shoulder, with the engraver's initials 'L.A.' (Lea Ahlborn) incused near the lower rim. The circumferential legend reads 'OSCAR II SVERIGES O. NORGES KONUNG' (Oscar II King of Sweden and Norway), positioned along the toothed border that frames the entire obverse field. The portrait reflects the neoclassical engraving style prevalent at the Stockholm Mint in the 1870s. |

| Reverse description | The combined arms of Sweden and Norway are displayed as a quartered shield surmounted by a royal crown, supported on either side by two rampant lions as heraldic supporters, each shown in fine relief against a plain field. A curved ribbon banner beneath the shield bears the motto 'BRODRAFOLKENS VAL' (The welfare of the brother peoples). The denomination '1 KRONA' appears prominently in the upper field above the shield, while the date and mint mark 'S.T.' (Stockholm) are placed in the lower exergual area. The entire design is enclosed within a dentilated border consistent with the milled coinage standards of the period. |
