Sokszorosító Ipar Részvénytársaság was a Budapest-based printing and reproduction firm, not a bank — which makes this 1921 Korona emission an example of the industrial scrip that briefly proliferated across Hungary as the postwar monetary system buckled under hyperinflationary pressure. Firms, municipalities, and cooperatives all issued their own small-denomination notes when the official supply of low-value currency simply failed to keep pace with daily transactions.
The Adamo reference catalog is the standard authority for Hungarian notgeld of this period, though coverage of corporate issuers like this one is thinner than for municipal emissions.
