Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a shield bearing the crowned royal monogram of King Hans is centrally placed in the field. A peripheral Latin legend in uncial characters runs between the inner beaded ring and an outer beaded border at the rim. The overall design reflects the Gothic hammered coinage style characteristic of late medieval Scandinavian minting.

Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a long cross divides the field into four quadrants, with the legend distributed across them. A shield in the center bears the crowned Norwegian lion rampant, facing left and grasping a halberd. A peripheral Latin legend in uncial characters occupies the space between the inner beaded ring and an outer beaded border at the rim, identifying the Bergen mint issue.
