| Obverse description | Central device features a crowned heraldic shield displaying the arms of Austria — barry of six alternating plain and fimbriated horizontal stripes — set within an ornate baroque cartouche with scrolling foliate mantling extending to either side. The imperial crown surmounts the escutcheon, rendered in high relief with a characteristic arched form. The field is plain, and the coin's border is formed by a fine toothed or engrailed rim.
