Additional information

Franz I died in August 1765, cutting this issue short and triggering an immediate coinage transition under co-regent Joseph II. The Heller was the lowest denomination in the Habsburg copper series, and these pieces circulated with punishing intensity through the markets and toll roads of the hereditary lands — survivors with any surface definition at all are the exception.
