| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the Polish state eagle displayed, with wings spread, crowned with a small royal crown, rendered in a stylized Art Deco manner as designed by Wojciech Jastrzębowski. The eagle's talons are spread at the base and its chest features detailed feathering. The circular legend reads 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA' (Republic of Poland) surrounding the eagle, with the date '1923' appearing at the top of the legend arc, flanked by lozenge stops. The engraver's initials 'J W' appear within the field. |

Trial strikes for the 1923 grosz series were produced as Poland worked to establish a stable coinage infrastructure following the catastrophic hyperinflation that had wiped out the Polish mark — by late 1923, the mark had collapsed to roughly 6.4 million per US dollar. The new złoty system, introduced through monetary reform in 1924, required advance die and planchet testing, which accounts for the existence of these obverse trials in off-specification weights.
The ParM prefix situates this piece within Parchimowicz's specialized catalog of Polish pattern and trial material — a reference set that remains the authoritative source for pre-reform experimental strikes.
