Obverse description Three concentric circles of legend in Gothic script, separated by beaded borders, occupy the entire field. The innermost circle encloses a stylized fleur-de-lis or royal monogram device at center. The legends read outward from the innermost band and invoke the Ave Maria together with the name and title of Conrad II Rex, reflecting the imperial authority claimed by the commune. The overall design closely follows the tornese type, with the lettering executed in a bold medieval Gothic hand typical of North Italian communal coinage of the late 13th and 14th centuries.
