Obverse description Facing enthroned figure of Pope Innocent VII in full pontifical vestments, wearing the papal tiara, seated on a throne flanked by two small kneeling figures or lions at the base. The Pope holds a long processional cross or sceptre in his right hand and raises his left hand in a gesture of blessing. The design is rendered in the Gothic style typical of late medieval papal coinage, with fine drapery detail visible on the vestments. The central device is enclosed within a plain inner circle bordered by a beaded inner ring, with the papal legend distributed around the periphery of the field.
