The legend encircles the scene, reading the Doge's name and the invocation of Saint Mark. The composition follows the standard Venetian grosso type established in the thirteenth century, with strong Byzantine stylistic influence evident in the hieratic, frontal posture of both figures. |

| Description du revers | Christ Pantocrator enthroned in majesty, depicted full-length in frontal Byzantine style within an ornate throne structure with decorative columns and floral terminals. Christ wears long robes and raises his right hand in benediction while holding the Gospels in his left hand; a cruciform nimbus surrounds his head. The Christogram IC - XC flanks the figure on either side, identifying Christ in the standard Byzantine abbreviation.
