| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central device depicting a helmeted lion passant-guardant seated within a lobed or cusped inner circle, rendered in the Gothic style typical of Flemish medieval coinage. The lion, symbol of the County of Flanders, is shown with elaborate decorative detailing on the helmet and body. A beaded inner border separates the central field from the surrounding circumferential legend.
