| Beschrijving keerzijde | Enthroned frontal figure of Saint John the Baptist, robed and crowned, seated between two Gothic architectural towers with crenellated battlements, holding a lamb or orb before him. Below the enthroned figure, a small shield bearing the arms of Berg appears at the base. The saint is depicted in the hieratic style characteristic of Rhenish Goldgulden of the period, with the legend encircling the design within a beaded border. The reverse composition closely follows the Florentine gulden tradition adapted for Rhenish ecclesiastical and comital coinage. |
