| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a four-quartered shield with a grid-like lattice pattern, the last two digits of the date (5 and 7) flanking the shield on either side in the field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading WILHELM · VORS · D · G · M · LI with a cross at the top, referring to Wilhelm von Fürstenberg, Master of Livonia by the grace of God. The design is characteristic of hammered coinage of the Livonian Order, with uneven flan edges and lightly struck relief. |
