Obverse description Central field bears a quartered shield displaying a plain cross, supported by two rampant lions, rendered in the hammered medieval style. A Livonian Order countermark — an applied punch — is visible prominently in the left field, overlapping the host coin's design. The surrounding circular legend in uncial Latin characters reads MONETA · NOVA · AR · TAR 1532, running along the inner border of a beaded or corded rim. The host coin shows wear consistent with circulation, and a suspension hole is present near the lower edge, suggesting post-monetary use as a pendant. The overall strike is typical of early sixteenth-century Baltic hammered coinage.
