| Obverse description | Circular hammered flan bearing a countermark applied over the host coin's obverse. The central field displays a deeply impressed countermark consisting of a cross pattée within a beaded or rope-bordered circular punch. The surrounding area retains the original host coin's devices and legend, partially obscured by the applied countermark. The peripheral legend, rendered in Gothic uncial characters, reads MONETA · NOVA · AR · TAR · 153X, denoting the New Silver Coin of Dorpat. The overall surface shows characteristic irregularity typical of emergency countermarked coinage of the Baltic region. |
