Reverse description Quarter section of a voided short cross, with a quatrefoil of pellets decorating each visible angle within an inner beaded circle. The moneyer's name and mint name appear around the cross in a fragmentary Latin legend, truncated by the quarter-cut format. The bold, linear cross design and pellet ornaments are hallmarks of the Short Cross coinage series introduced under Henry II. The strike is characteristic of class 1b, with the beaded inner circle providing a clear boundary between the cross motif and the surrounding inscription.
