Reverse description The reverse bears a three-line Persian inscription in Nasta'liq script arranged within the central field of the flan, recording the date of issue and the mint of production. The uppermost line gives the word for 'year' (سنة), followed by the Hijri numeral 1229, with the mint name Tabriz (تبریز) and the word 'struck' (ضرب) completing the legend below. The inscription is characteristic of anonymous local copper coinage of the Qajar period, with no ruler's name or additional decorative elements present.
