| 裏面の説明 | The reverse presents a frontal standing figure of Saint Peter, bearded and nimbed, draped in long ecclesiastical robes, with both arms slightly extended in a hieratic pose. The figure is framed between two beaded inner borders forming a pointed oval mandorla, with small six-pointed stars disposed symmetrically in the intervening field on both sides. The design closely follows the Venetian ducat prototype adapted for Roman senatorial coinage. The surrounding circular legend in uncial Latin reads ROMA * CAPVT * MVNDI * S * P * Q * R *, invoking Rome as the capital of the world and the authority of the Senate and People of Rome. |
