正面描述	Central oval inner circle enclosing the papal arms of Pope Paul II (Pietro Barbo): a shield bearing a bend sinister charged with a lion passant, surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter, rendered in the Gothic heraldic style characteristic of 15th-century Italian hammered coinage. The surrounding legend, separated by pellet stops, reads PAVLVS PP SECVNDVS, distributed around the beaded inner border. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hammer-struck gold ducats of the period, with the design elements struck in moderately high relief.
