Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing bust of King Oscar I, rendered in high relief with finely engraved wavy hair and a short beard, occupying the central field. The portrait is large and boldly modelled in the neoclassical tradition, consistent with the coin's designation as the 'large head' type. The surrounding legend reads OSCAR SVERIGES NORR. GÖTH. O VEND. KONUNG., separated by pellets, running clockwise from the lower left along the beaded inner border.
