| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, her hair elaborately curled in the Baroque fashion. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detailing on the lace collar and drapery. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading M THERES D G R IMP GER HU BO REG, identifying her as Empress of Germany, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia. The field is smooth and the rim is lightly beaded. |
