Reverse description Saint Peter standing facing, vested in episcopal robes, holding the keys of Heaven in his right hand and a book in his left. The saint's figure divides a composite shield bearing the impaled arms of Cardinal Giulio de' Medici, papal legate of Bologna, and of the city of Bologna. The design is executed in the hammered Renaissance style, with a beaded border encircling the field and the Latin motto distributed in the surrounding legend.
