Reverse description Two nimbed apostolic figures, Saints Paul (left, holding a sword) and Peter (right, holding the keys), stand facing one another in full-length draped robes within the field. Each saint bears a nimbus and is rendered in the Gothic-Renaissance transitional style typical of early sixteenth-century Papal coinage. A trident or merchant's mark of the Fugger banking house appears below in the exergue, serving as a banker's or assayer's mark. A beaded outer border encircles the design, with the circumferential Latin legend distributed around the periphery.
