| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Joseph II facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curled hair and lace-trimmed mantle. The portrait is youthful and baroque in character, consistent with the style of the Vienna Mint during the co-regency period. The encircling Latin legend is divided by the bust, reading IOS. II. D. G. R. I. S. A. to the right and GER. IER. REX A. to the left. The mint mark 'A' for Vienna appears in the lower field beneath the bust. The coin's border is ornamented with a continuous inner beaded circle. |
