Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Carl XIV Johan facing right, rendered as a truncated bust with finely detailed curly hair, in the neoclassical style. The portrait is bold and high-relief, occupying the central field with a smooth, unadorned truncation at the shoulder. A continuous circular legend surrounds the effigy along the periphery, separated from the toothed border by a narrow rim. The overall engraving is characteristic of early nineteenth-century Swedish royal coinage.
