| Additional information |
Part of Palau's long-running marine life series, this miniature gold issue was produced by the Bsvojska Mint and marketed primarily through European coin dealers rather than through any meaningful domestic circulation channel. Palau has no gold reserves and no domestic mint, making every piece in the series a pure numismatic product issued under licensing arrangements.
The yellow boxfish, Ostracion cubicus, is native to the reef systems surrounding the Palauan archipelago — one of the few cases in this series where the subject species actually inhabits the issuing nation's waters.
